Magazine Contents page analysis

Contents pages, are a viewers guide to a magazine, same way we use maps for direction when looking for a certain location, and while i was doing market research i came to discover that almost every single magazines contents page in almost every genre has a similar if not the same layout, a contents page was never something i gave much thought to, until now! i will upload a screenshot over viewing a wide range of contents pages showcasing how almost each one is in one way or another the same, 

instead of analyzing one magazine content page which is all over the internet, i didn't want to copy and paste a ready made analysis instead i wanted to step back and look at a wide range as i mentioned, what i found was the key to a successful contents page was simple, and i mean that literally, simplicity is the key, clarity in the writing, easy to read and follow, white as a background is what most opt for, the choice of red as a pop of color as it attracts the reader or opting for mainly neutral tones and a celebrity as the main attraction in bright clothing as the focal point, and most of the time the celebrity or the foreground attraction object is in either the right or the left of the page similar to the layout for double page spreads which will be my next analysis.
